Food and Nutrition Security

According to the recent surveys made by NDP, ¾ of the population of Uganda live in rural areas and are food insecure, thus causing hunger and malnutrition among the communities. The food insecurity  is a result of a multiple causes including: poor farming methods, poor seed varieties and animal breeds, lack of capital, crop and animal diseases, environmental degradation and lack of farming in group

CESA-Uganda works to solve the above mentioned challenges through support of the rural women and youth farming communities with agricultural trainings including; good agronomic methods; integrated pest management control (IPM); climate mitigation measures like energy saving technologies, planting trees& agroecology;  provision of revolving hybrid animals, improved different seeds and farm inputs, all are aimed at improving household food, nutrition and income security.
